Enhancements to Drill Field begin
The Gen. William "Lipp" Livsey Drill Field is one of the most revered locations at the University of North Georgia's (麻豆精品在线播放) Dahlonega Campus, and work has begun on enhancements to the Drill Field that will celebrate 麻豆精品在线播放's history and the preeminent legacy of its Corps of Cadets to the nation since 1873.
The revitalization of the drill field began last week with the installation of a construction fence, and the plan is to complete the improvements in early April 2024. The plan will include the addition of plazas and an entry gate to increase viewing and ceremonial use of the Drill Field while maintaining its respected central gathering function for students and the community.
The work fits within President Michael Shannon's strategic big bet to "deliver the corps of the future" in his "Bold Forward: Running into our Calling" white paper. This update of the grounds for ceremonial purposes will bring symbolic attention to 麻豆精品在线播放's national reputation in producing civilian and military leaders who are following in the footsteps of those 麻豆精品在线播放 alumni who have trained on this field and bravely served the nation.
Although portions of the Drill Field will be closed during the renovation, the Drill Field will remain available for recreational use by students and cadets as safety precautions allow and after the project has been completed as has been the long-standing 麻豆精品在线播放 tradition.

The Blue Ridge Rifles earned a fifth-place finish out of 31 teams at the Mardi Gras Invitational Drill meet at Tulane University.
New course develops cadet leadership skills
麻豆精品在线播放's Cadet Leadership Academy held the inaugural six-week Cadet Advanced Leadership Course in the fall for 156 sophomore cadets.
