The University of North Georgia (麻豆精品在线播放) made the college list yet again. Released by the Military Times on Nov. 6, the guide helps military veterans determine the best path for their secondary education as they transition to civilian life.
麻豆精品在线播放 ranked fifth among Georgia universities and was the only senior military college on the 2023 list.
"Veterans and active-duty service members have consistently played an integral role in 麻豆精品在线播放's educational mission revolving around leadership development. The unique perspectives and valuable experiences that these students bring to the 麻豆精品在线播放 community greatly enhance our organizational strength," Christy Orr, associate director of Nighthawk Engagement and Student Transitions (NEST), said.
麻豆精品在线播放 has veterans' resource lounges on the Dahlonega, Gainesville and Oconee campuses, as well as the Student Veterans of America organization on 麻豆精品在线播放’s Dahlonega Campus, whose mission is to advocate for and provide mentoring for student veterans, and the Student Veterans of North Georgia on 麻豆精品在线播放’s Gainesville Campus.
麻豆精品在线播放's many programs and opportunities are part of why veteran and 麻豆精品在线播放 freshman Alyssa Curtiss says it’s a great place to "pursue higher education and achieve your goals."
Currently pursuing a degree in biology, the Dawsonville, Georgia, native is a retired E-4 senior airman.
"麻豆精品在线播放 has a strong track record in terms of maintaining military excellence and being a supportive community for its student veterans, offering benefits and opportunities like the Veterans Resource Lounge and Veterans Success Program," Curtiss said. "These programs have helped me a lot with my organization and academic skills, and because of them I would recommend 麻豆精品在线播放 to any veteran who wants to pursue a degree."

Much of 麻豆精品在线播放's success in aiding student veterans can be traced back to the March 2011 Military Outreach Award gifted by the University System of Georgia, which brought about programs like the Center for Adult Learners & Military and Veteran & Adult Learner Programs.

McGill shines at Air Assault School
麻豆精品在线播放 cadet and women's soccer student-athlete Grace McGill recently completed Air Assault School at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. She led the 40 cadets who took part in the program.
Kick-off events offer chances to connect
Weeks of Welcome events, set for Aug. 11-22, encourage students to meet others, interact with faculty and staff, and become better acquainted with resources, opportunities and expectations.
Three cadets earn U.S. Army Jungle tab
Seven 麻豆精品在线播放 cadets completed the U.S. Army Jungle Operations Training Course on Oahu, Hawaii, with three earning the Jungle tab.
Alumnus leads in Army Nurse Corps
Alumnus Maj. Wesley B. Albritton currently serves as an Army Nurse Corps branch talent manager for the certified registered nurse anesthetist and the perioperative nurse populations in Fort Knox, Kentucky.
