Tommy Otley, DPT
Team physical therapist and sports scientist for the University of Miami’s men’s and women’s basketball programs.
Dr. Tommy Otley is a distinguished alumnus of the University of North Georgia's Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Class of 2020. He has been recognized for his exceptional leadership and innovative contributions to sports physical therapy and high performance.
While at 麻豆精品在线播放, Dr. Otley served as class president and chief anatomy graduate assistant in the DPT program. His impactful journey continued with a sports residency at Duke University, where he specialized in treating athletic injuries and provided pro-bono rehabilitation services to several Durham area high schools. Dr. Otley earned additional time at Duke, completing their prestigious Division I Sports Physical Therapy Fellowship. In this role, he worked to rehabilitate elite athletes and integrated advanced sports technologies to enhance performance and recovery with their basketball, football, and Olympic sports teams. In addition to his work at Duke, Dr. Otley has managed rehabilitation for a World Cup medalist and national champions in the WNBA and NCAA DI men’s and women’s basketball.
Currently, Dr. Otley is the team physical therapist and sports scientist for the University of Miami’s men’s and women’s basketball programs, where his innovative use of technology and performance profiling strategies has significantly contributed to the teams’ development and historic successes, including an ACC championship, final four and elite eight appearances. In addition to his basketball role, Dr. Otley is an associated faculty member for the University of Miami DPT and Sports Residency programs and serves as the Practice Chair of the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy.
Dr. Otley is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Physical Therapy at the University of Miami, focusing on research related to return to performance after injury in elite sport. He is committed to teaching and mentoring future physical therapists and is actively bridging research with practical applications to advance the field.
Adam Stephens
Licensed Professional Counselor
Adam graduated from the University of North Georgia with a master's degree in counseling. Adam was the first student accepted into the inaugural Addiction’s Track at 麻豆精品在线播放 and was part of the track’s first graduating class. He is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. Adam has a passion for serving those with mental health and addiction needs due to his personal experience with addiction as well as the current need for quality addiction and mental health counseling. Adam currently works as a mobile crisis responder serving individuals in the Metro Atlanta area that may be experiencing a severe mental health crisis. Adam also works a few days a week in a private practice setting where he leans into existentialism, spirituality addictions counseling and relating to the “lost” young man in this confusing world. Previously, he has worked at Hall County Treatment Services and in a residential treatment setting at Mt. Sinai Wellness Center in Dahlonega.
Adam has volunteered with the American Foundation for Suicide prevention, teaches motivational interviewing to counseling students, has been interviewed about addiction on various platforms (podcast, radio, etc.), and is constantly keeping up with the latest findings in addiction recovery/counseling. Adam was selected for this impactful role in IPP and highly recommended by one of his mentors and former professors in the counseling program.
Adam plans to continue to support and provide expertise with the IPP for as long as needed as he believes strongly in its purpose. In his free time, Adam spends time with his two children, drinks good coffee, listens to podcasts, roots for The Atlanta Braves, travels, exercises and perfects his chili recipe (it’s really good btw!). Adam’s biggest strength is his natural curiosity of his fellows and desire to see people get better.
Douglas W. Lundy, MD
Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon at St. Luke’s University Health Network in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Doug Lundy is Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon at St. Luke’s University Health Network in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He is a prior co-President of Resurgens Orthopedics; one of the largest orthopedic practices in the country where he specialized in the care of patients with multiple injuries and complex fractures. While in Georgia, he practiced at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he served as Chair of the WellStar Musculoskeletal Service Line and Chief of Surgery.
He is actively involved in many national and state surgical and orthopedic societies. He served as President of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS), Chair of the Oral Examination Committee and as Director from 2012 to 2021. He is past-Chair of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) Advocacy Council, former Treasurer of the Political Action Committee of the AAOS and past-chairman of the AAOS Medical Liability Committee. He is currently the First President-elect of the Orthopedic Trauma Association (OTA), and he previously served on the OTA Board of Directors as CFO and as a Member-at Large. He led the effort of the OTA to produce Performance Measures with the AAOS and as chair of the OTA Health Policy Committee. He currently represents the OTA on the AAOS Board of Specialty Societies. He currently serves on the American Orthopedic Association (AOA) Critical Issues Committee and was Vice-Chair of the AOA Leadership Fellowship Committee. He serves on the American College of Surgeon’s Board of Governors and Orthopedic Advisory Committee and previously on the ACS Committee on Trauma. He is a past-President of the Georgia Orthopedic Society and formerly served as Legislative Director. He is a Clinical Associate Professor (Adjunct) in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, Department/Center of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine.
He graduated from North Georgia College and the Medical College of Georgia and did his post-graduate training at Georgia Baptist and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He received his Master of Business Administration from Auburn University in 2014. He is very involved in foreign medical missions in Eastern Europe, Haiti, Asia and especially sub-Saharan Africa through the Christian Medical and Dental Association and the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons. He is an Overseas Fellow of the College of Surgery of East, Central and Southern Africa, and he participates in their oral examinations. He has authored over eighty manuscripts on orthopedic surgery and has presented topics on orthopedic trauma over 300 times both in the United States and abroad.
He is an alumnus of the 2010 class of Leadership Atlanta, and the 2017 class of Leadership Cobb. He was selected as one of the “Top Doctors in Atlanta” by Atlanta Magazine in 2011 to 2021.
He has remained active in the Sigma Chi Fraternity at a national level, and in 2011 he was given the lifetime achievement award of Significant Sig, and he assists the undergraduate chapters at Auburn, Emory and North Georgia College. Doug and his wife Peggy reside in Nazareth, Pennsylvania
