EAW Kickoff Video

Welcome to the University System of  Georgia’s (USG) Ethics Awareness Week.
As you may know, the purpose of this  week is to remind employees of the
importance of an ethical culture and of our year-round commitment
to compliance with USG policies,  as well as state and federal laws.

Central to this awareness campaign are  our shared core values of Integrity,
Excellence, Accountability and Respect.

While we set aside a specific week for this awareness  campaign, it is our expectation that USG
employees will incorporate our  core values and code of conduct
into daily decision-making year-round.

As part of this awareness campaign,
each USG institution and the System  Office will be taking part in activities
to bring awareness to the  importance of an ethical culture.

There will also be opportunities for you to engage  in system-wide Ethics Awareness Week activities.
These activities include a system-wide  Chancellor’s event which will be
held on Monday, Nov. 3rd, where at p.m. Chancellor Sonny Perdue will
welcome Mr. Jimmy Blanchard, retired  Chairman and CEO of Synovus; Vice
Chairman, Covey Equity, to share  with us his insights around Leading
with Integrity in a Complex World.

We hope you can join us for this event, it will be held at Columbus State  University’s RiverCenter in Legacy Hall
and streamed live through Teams to all  USG institutions and other USO locations.

There will also be a panel discussion around Ethics and
Compliance best practices titled The  Compliance Catalyst: Leadership that
Shapes Culture. That panel will  be conducted virtually Friday,
November 7th, – a.m. Continuing education credits will be available for this training.

Being good stewards of the resources entrusted to the USG
is a non-negotiable requirement of maintaining the public’s trust. To fulfill this requirement,
we must incorporate ethical  decision-making in all that we do.

Thanks to each of you for all that you do to  support an ethical culture and for your work
in accomplishing the mission of the USG.
