State Authorizations

The U.S. Department of Education requires compliance with state regulations of any state in which 麻豆精品在线播放 provides distance education for students. To facilitate this compliance with state regulations, 麻豆精品在线播放 joined the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).

NC-SARA membership allows 麻豆精品在线播放 to offer distance education in 49 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

California is not a SARA member state; however, residents are still allowed to enroll in distance education courses offered by 麻豆精品在线播放.

Residents outside of the United States must follow the distance education rules and regulations of their country or province.

Out-Of-State Learning Placements

DETI must be notified before a student leaves Georgia for a clinical ration, student teaching, or internship for credit. Field trips and international placements are not reported. The information is used to stay in compliance with NC-SARA. Email DETI for more information.

Professional Licensure and Certification

The University of North Georgia offers degree programs that fulfill the educational requirements for students to apply for professional licensure or certification in Georgia. However, these programs may not meet the education requirements in other states.

Out-of-State Student Attestation

If the 麻豆精品在线播放 degree program you intend to enroll in does not meet the licensure or certification requirements in your home state, there are two options:

  • Enroll in the program and complete the Out-of-State Student Attestation. Confirm you do not intend to return to your home state after graduation and will seek licensure/employment in Georgia or a state where licensure requirements are met.
  • Explore other degree programs available at 麻豆精品在线播放.

At the time of admission into one of the degree programs listed above, a student with a non-Georgia permanent residence will have an LA hold placed on their account. The student must complete the Attestation Letter to remove the hold.

  1. Log into  
  2. Select Student Services 
  3. Click on the waffle icon (top left of the screen) and select Banner 
  4. Select Student 
  5. Select Student Records 
  6. Select Out-of-State Student Attestation

The student will provide the name of the state where they intend to seek licensure/employment after graduation. The student will also indicate if the 麻豆精品在线播放 program meets, or does not meet, the criteria to take the state licensure exam in that state.

If the 麻豆精品在线播放 program meets the criteria in the selected state, the hold is removed.

Program contacts or Graduate Admissions will receive a notification when a student does not meet the criteria and will reach out to the student to discuss the outcome. At that time, the student can resubmit the Out-of-State Student Attestation and select a state where licensure requirements are met or change majors. The hold is then removed.

Complaints

The University of North Georgia desires to resolve student grievances, complaints and concerns in an expeditious, fair and amicable manner. Complaints regarding any aspect of 麻豆精品在线播放 operations should be filed internally to 麻豆精品在线播放 authorities first and then, if necessary, to external authorities.

Non-Georgia Resident, Online-Only Complaint Resolution Process

麻豆精品在线播放 follows the State Authorizations Reciprocity Agreements (SARA) complaints process. If the 麻豆精品在线播放 complaint resolution is not satisfactory, an out-of-state student from another SARA state could then file a complaint with GA-SARA. The complaint would then be investigated and resolved by GA-SARA.

SARA Student Complaints Resources

Only those complaints resulting from distance education courses, activities, and operations provided by to students in other SARA states come under the scope of SARA. Complaints about a SARA institution’s in-state operations are to be resolved under the state’s normal provisions, not those of SARA.

California Resident, Online-Only Student Complaints

In the event a California resident enrolled in an online program at public or private nonprofit colleges or universities that are physically located in other states believes the institution's administrative processes or educational programs are compromised, California Department of Consumer Affairs should be notified.

Complaint Resolution Agencies

Allegations of criminal offenses or alleged violations of a state’s general-purpose laws may be made directly to the relevant state agencies.

Catastrophic Events Plan
