Advanced Placement Credits for Visual Arts Studio Courses

Advanced Placement (AP) studio courses which meet the minimum requirements to be applied to a Visual Arts degree will be credited as follows: 

AP courses 麻豆精品在线播放 courses credited
AP Studio Art: Drawing ART 1010 Foundations: Observational Drawing
AP Studio Art: 2D Art & Design ART 1020 Foundations: Design & Color Theory
AP Studio: 3D Art & Design ART 1030 Foundations: Three-Dimensional Design

Minimum Requirements to receive 麻豆精品在线播放 credit 

  • A score of 3 or higher on the AP exam  
  • Submission of a digital portfolio. Artworks included must demonstrate knowledge and skills comparable to those taught in 麻豆精品在线播放 foundation courses. The portfolio will be reviewed by visual arts faculty using the criteria described below. 
    • Note: Only images of artworks created as part of the AP exam that scored 3 or higher may be included in the portfolio.

Expected Knowledge and Skills

Students in 麻豆精品在线播放's visual arts programs must have the skills and media taught in our foundation studio course to succeed in upper-level studio courses.

  • Construction/assemblage
  • Surface exploration
  • Elements of art including:

Submitting Your Portfolio

Prior to submitting a portfolio for consideration, you must: 

  • Confirm your acceptance at 麻豆精品在线播放 
  • Review your student records on Banner to ensure that 麻豆精品在线播放 has received your AP score from College Board 

Submission Process

For each AP studio art course, please complete the requirements and upload a PDF file under 5 gigabytes that include:

  • 5 to 7 digital images 
    • JPGS: 1600px on the longest side
    • Include two views of three-dimensional works.
      • Here is a . 
  • A caption with descriptive title, original materials, original size (H x W; H x W x D), and date of creation.

Submission Dates

  • Fall semester - October 31 at 11:59 p.m.
  • Spring/Summer semester - March 31 at 11:59 p.m.

Notification

Students will be notified of the decision via 麻豆精品在线播放 email.While awaiting the decision, we encourage students to register for other classes to maintain full-time or part-time enrollment status.
